Sailing..

Once upon a time there was a little boat..

that wanted to go on a big adventure and never look back.

Moral: Don't ever dock too long and when you decide to leave don't forget to take those special passengers along with you on the ride.♥

Aufwiedersehn Petal!

As we're still in Spring time I thought I'd upload my one and only animation (so far!!)!

The entire making took "6 days". From the inital idea to the completion of all of the drawings and the noises which were quickly recorded thru a dodgy microphone :D! Fun times!

Below are some of my sketchbook pages :)!

I want Candy..

A matter close to my ♥

"Diabetes has been a recognised condition for more than 3,500 years"- BBC health

Although this is a piece of work from my 1st semester last year, I feel that at this moment in time it is very relevent. The brief for the above image was to "Modernize a German Fairytale". I'm not quite sure how succsessful I was but as with most fairytales, they raise an issue which will always exist such as love, hate, good and evil. I decided to look upon the aspect of illness and in particular, diabetes. A somewhat bittersweet thing.

My image I guess would be used as a poster. It portrays Hansel and Gretel (two little kids who loved their candy), meeting with various other fairytale characters and showing the side effects and early signs of diabetes.

This little piggy went to market...Did you know that diabetes can effect one's feet?

I personally feel that not only diabetes, but also other illnesses out there do not have enough awareness about them.

The other night for exampe, the BBC mentioned on their programme "Spoilt Rotten?" that by having an unhealthy diet and "bad" lifestyle, could lead to "Diabetes" in the future. Although this may be the case regarding type 2 diabetes, it was not made clear to the viewers that type 1 diabetes is somewhat different. Many people are not even aware that there is more than one type of diabetes. When reguarding type 1 diabetes, medical resources have yet to provide a reason for one to develope it.

An apple a day keeps the doctor..away?

I guess that I can only hope that in the future a silly mistake that could be seen as misleading information, will be made more specific to an exact fact.

Gums and all

As I was looking through my old stuff (yet again), I came across my 1st year folio. As I have already mentioned the 1st year exhibition I thought I would post my attempts. 1st year. Oh my.

The story of one once loved...

A mixture of pencil, sewing and finger painting. This took me quite a while but the message behind it kept me going. On the idea of every girl will find her prince charming yet inspired by the thought of having to kiss a lot of toads first.

For a personal note I added the lyrics of a few songs that I felt related at the time. However I hope whoever saw my drawing took this message along with their own.

To conclude...

The beginning of a story of a happy sadness...

"Yeah...And I'm sad! But at the same time I'm really happy that something can make me feel that sad... It's like... It makes me feel alive, y'know? It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now, is if I felt somethin' really good before, so I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling' is, like a beautiful sadness..."

Chirp Chirp

I love coming home to find that my mother has been busy. Every year without fail these little guys appear from the cupboard to grace our living room.

They may look ordinary but believe it or not they are far from that! They are special.

These little chickens do not just lay the type of Easter eggs that rot your teeth. No! Instead they are the clever little fellows that leave behind their beautiful gifts that will never go mouldy.

However with their static charm they remain but onlookers.

In their flocks they gather and leave as quickly as they arrived, until next Easter when once again they shall lay their colourful presence.

If you listen carefully, one day you may be lucky enough to hear them chirping their delicate call.

Jiingijamborii 07 - The story

So the story begins on Friday but the buisness started on the Saturday :p

Jiingijamborii 2007

So I'm back home for Easter and was looking through my old Guide and Scout stuff and found my Diary from a camp I had been too. Nothing like a little bit of nostalgia to bring on the Summer!

Sommartider 07.

In 2007 I was lucky enough to be selected for an international camp in Sweden. The group consisted of myself, 9 other Guides and 2 leaders. The camp lasted for 9 days and we spent 12 days in total in Sweden. My experience was one that will never leave me :p. Haha nternational relations Ftw! These are just the drawings I made to sum up my time! :)
